Saturday, June 14: CSA STRAWBERRY PICKING TRIP

Come see where your food grows! And pick some berries!
WHO: This fun trip is for the first 50 CSA members to sign up & pay
for their seat on the bus. If you have a car and want to drive yourself,
you do not need to signup or pay for the bus—see below.
SIGNUP: There will be a sign-up list at the June 5th & June 12th
distributions. We have 140 members and only 50 seats on the bus,
so sign up early if you want to come! You cannot sign up by email.
COST: $10 per person (for the bus), payable by check or money order
only, to be collected on 6/5 and 6/12 at CSA distribution, bet 5-8pm.
The farm also charges a reasonable price for the fruit you pick, by
the weight of your strawberries.
TIME: 9:30 Meet outside on the sidewalk @ SCS 43-31 39th Street
10:00 Sharp! The bus will depart Sunnyside Community Services
12:00 Arrive at Golden Earthworm Organic Farm. We will have a
picnic style potluck lunch on the grass and then pick strawberries!
3:00 Sharp! The buses will depart the farm to head home
5:00 Buses will drop us off in front of SCS on 39th Street
BRING: Long pants, good walking shoes, a hat or sunscreen, a bag
lunch, your camera, a picnic blanket or chairs, a watch, spending
money for the farmstand (optional), potluck food to share (optional),
a cooler for your strawberries (optional)

IN CASE OF RAIN: If it is rainy, we will have to cancel. If that
happens, we will send an email to the group and call the people who
have signed up for the bus. The farm said that we can't pick strawberries
in the rain. Pray for sunshine!
DRIVING: Directions can be found on www.goldenearthworm.com. You are welcome to drive your own car to the farm for strawberry picking. If
you are driving, please don't sign up on the bus sheet. You don't have
to pay the $10 for the bus if you are driving.
